Apr 15, 2020

As part of its responsibility towards the Kingdom and in support of the efforts made by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to combat the spread of Covid-19, the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) and its subsidiaries announced today a contribution of SAR 15 million to the Health Endowment Fund established by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health.

The move is part of Ma’aden’s identity as a national champion and key member of the Saudi business community, which stands in solidarity with the Saudi leadership and government as it continues to take steps to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Commenting on the announcement, Ma’aden CEO, Eng. Mosaed Al Ohali, said: “On behalf of the Ma’aden family, I would like to extend my gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership for its extraordinary efforts in ensuring the health and safety of everyone in the Kingdom. It is now more important than ever that we come together to protect the health and wellbeing of every citizen and resident in Saudi Arabia. The private sector in the Kingdom has a responsibility towards the society that has been crucial to our success over the years. On behalf of Ma’aden, I want to thank all the frontline workers who are doing their utmost to keep our communities safe during this time of extraordinary difficulty.”

Ma’aden has maintained its mining and manufacturing operations throughout the Kingdom with minimal staff and ensuring stringent health and safety measures for all employees in compliance with government measures since the start of the outbreak. Strict health procedures have always been implemented in all Ma’aden mines, factories and plants.

“We endeavor to keep operating as long as it’s safe for every member of our teams to do so, to contribute essential products for the food security and manufacturing industries, such as phosphate fertilizers and aluminium sheets, and minimize disruption to global supply chains,” Eng. Mosaed Al Ohali continued.
