H.E. Yasir Bin Othman Al-Rumayyan

Chairman - Non-Executive

His Excellency Yasir Bin Othman Al-Rumayyan is the Chairman of the Board of Maaden - Saudi Arabian Mining Company since the end of September 2019, the Governor of the Public Investment Fund since 2015, and serves as the advisor to the General Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, a position he has held since 2016.

His Excellency holds key positions on the boards of some of the world’s most influential companies and organizations, most notably as Chairman of Saudi Aramco, the world’s most valuable listed company, a position he has held since September 2019. He also holds the position of Chairman of Sanabil Investment Company since 2017 and board member of Uber Technologies Inc., SoftBank Group Corp., and ARM Limited, roles he has held since June 2016, August 2016, June 2017, and May 2018 respectively.

In addition, H.E. holds positions on the boards of key national organizations and companies, such as the Chairman of Noon Investment Company, Decision Support Center and Future Investment Initiative Institute. He is a board member on the board of the National Development Fund, Saudi Center for International Strategic Partnerships, NEOM, Red Sea Development Company and Amaala.

H.E. Al-Rumayyan holds a degree in Accounting from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s General Management Program.

His Excellency Yasir Bin Othman Al-Rumayyan is the Chairman of the Board of Maaden - Saudi Arabian Mining Company since the end of September 2019, the Advisor to the General Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Governor of the Public Investment Fund.

Abdulaziz AlJarbou

Deputy Chairman - Independent

Dr. Abdulaziz AlJarbou is the vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ma’aden. Dr. AlJarbou is recognized as one of the most renowned figures in the Saudi Arabian industrial sector. He was previously on the Board of Ma’aden from 1997 until 2011. Prior to rejoining Ma’aden’s Board, Dr. AlJarbou was the Chairman of the Board for SABIC from 2017 to 2020.

His other positions include being the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAQA between 2003 and 2011. He has served on the Board of Directors of Gulf Chemicals and Industrial Oils (GCI) since 2000. He also served as a Member of the Advisory Board of the Supreme Economic Council from 1999 to 2010 and Member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu from 1995 until 2003.

Dr. AlJarbou started his career as a Professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1976. He has a Master degree and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado School of Mines.

H.E. Suliman AlGwaiz

Independent

H.E. Sulaiman AlGwaiz was appointed to Ma’aden’s Board on 1 January 2014. Al-Gwaiz has been the Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) since 2013.

Prior to his appointment to the Board, he held several senior positions in the banking industry in the Kingdom, working at Samba (formerly Saudi American Bank) and Riyad Bank, gaining experience across diverse functions. He was the Deputy CEO of Riyad Bank from 1991 to 2012. Since 1 October 2010 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Industrial Investment Group.

Al-Gwaiz secured his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Portland University, USA, in 1981.

H.E. Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer

Non-Executive

H.E. Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, the Deputy Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (MEIM) was President and CEO of Ma’aden from 2011 to 2018. He led the company as it grew into a world class integrated national mining champion serving global markets.

Al-Mudaifer has 30 years of industrial experience, including 23 years in the mining sector and 24 years in executive leadership. Khalid joined Ma’aden in 2006 as Vice President for Phosphate and Business Development where he led the development of the Ma’aden Phosphate business and the master planning and development of Ras Al Khair Industrial City.

Prior to joining Ma’aden, Mr. Mudaifer President of the Qassim Cement Company from 1993 to 2006 and was Vice President and Director of Finance at the Eastern Petrochemical Company (Sharq/SABIC JV) from 1986 to 1993.

In the past, Khalid has held a number of board memberships with Qassim Cement and Saudi Arabian Railways, the Gulf International Bank, the International Fertilizer Association (IFA), the US Saudi Arabia Business Council (USSABC) and a number of social and government committees, boards and councils.

He holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

H.E. Ahmed Alhakbani

Independent

H.E. Eng. Ahmed Alhakbani was appointed as an Independent member of Ma'aden's Board of Directors on 25 October 2023.

He is the Founding Partner and CEO of Simplified Financial Solutions. He is a leading figure in the international trade and financial sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, having previously held several senior positions including Governor of the General Authority of Customs (2017-2021), Deputy minister of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment for Foreign Trade, Secretary General of the Export Development Authority (2013-2017), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Organization for King Fahd Causeway (2017-2021), and a member of the Board of Directors of Saudi Airlines (2021-2023).

He also worked as an advisor and director of the transformation and IT project at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to that, he was an advisor to the deputy minister for planning and IT at the Ministry of Education in 2008. In addition, he has experience working in major information technology companies in the private sector such as Cisco and Microsoft.

HE Alhakbani is currently a member on several boards of government and private sector entities in the Kingdom, such as the Communications and Space and Technology Commission, the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority, ACWA Power, and Obeikan Glass Company. In addition, he is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Integrated Special Logistics Zone Company

Al-Haqbani holds a bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Systems from King Saud University and an MBA from the European Institute of Business (INSEAD).

H.E. Eng. Khalid Bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer

Non-Executive

H.E. Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM) was President and CEO of Ma’aden from 2011 to 2018. He led the company as it grew into a world class integrated national mining champion serving global markets.

Richard O’Brien

Independent

Richard O’Brien was appointed to Ma’aden’s Board effective 25 October, 2017. He was Chief Financial Officer and later CEO of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the world’s largest gold mining companies, during 2005-13.

During 1984-2000, he held several positions including that of Operations Manager and CFO at PacifiCorp, working in coal mining, power generation, distribution and transportation. He is a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of electricity company Xcel Energy, where he also chairs the Audit Committee and is member of the Operations Committee and Environment and Safety Committee. He sits on the Board of Directors of Vulcan Materials Company, which produces construction materials, and chairs the Audit and Environment and Safety committees.

O’Brien secured his bachelor’s degree in Economy from Chicago University, USA and professional doctorate in law from Lewis & Clark Law School, USA.

Mohammed AlQahtani

Non-Executive

Dr. Mohammed AlQahtani is a Non-Executive member on Ma’aden’s Board of Directors. Dr. AlQahtani is also currently the Senior Vice President of Downstream at Saudi Aramco. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of Saudi Aramco Jubail Refinery Company (SASREF); the Dhahran Techno Valley Company (DTVC) Advisory Committee and the King Salman Energy City Development Company.

Dr. AlQahtani has held multiple positions since he first joined Saudi Aramco in 1983. In 2009, he assumed the position of Executive Director of Petroleum, before becoming the Vice President of Petroleum Engineering and Development in 2011. In 2013, he was named Vice President of Corporate Affairs and a year later, he was appointed Vice President of Corporate Planning. His most recent position prior to his current post at Saudi Aramco is Senior Vice President of Upstream, which he assumed in 2016.

He holds a Master’s degree and a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Eng. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Issa

Independent

Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Issa was appointed to Ma’aden’s Board on 28 April 2016. He has a unique portfolio of experience as a leading businessman.

He is the chairman of Abdullah Mohammed Al-Issa Consulting Engineering, Riyad Bank and Dur Hospitality. He also sits on the boards of leading companies including SABIC and Etihad-Etisalat (Mobily).

Al-Issa holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management from Southern Methodist University, USA.

Robert Wilt

Executive Board Member

Robert Wilt was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ma’aden on 1st February 2022.

He brings 30+ years of experience in various leadership positions, delivering exceptional strategic and operational results in a range of challenging global environments.

Between February 2020 and January 2022, Bob was President and CEO of Sofina Foods one of Canada’s largest food processing companies with a global footprint. Prior to this, he was President of the Metals Group at “Precision Castparts Corporation”, managing two subsidiary aerospace and industrial companies.

He was previously Executive Vice President of Alcoa, where he spent 17 years in multiple positions and was accountable for the world’s largest bauxite mining and alumina refining system, and third largest smelting system.

Wilt holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Abdallah bin Jum'ah

Independent

Abdallah bin Jum'ah is an Independent Board member in Ma’aden company since, 09 January 2020. Mr. Al Jum’ah is the Chairman of The Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB), member of the Halliburton Company board and the Saudi Co-Chairman of the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council.

He is the former president and chief executive officer of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) for 14 years. During his presidency of the company and until December 2008, he held the membership of Saudi Aramco's Board of Directors, in addition to his membership in the Supreme Council for Petroleum and Minerals Affairs.

He studied political science at the American University in Cairo and Beirut, and later, completed an administrative development program at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Mosaed Al Ohali

Chief Executive Officer

Engineer Mosaed Al Ohali was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and board member of Ma’aden on 1st April 2020. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industrial and petrochemical sectors in Saudi Arabia with him to the role. His experience spans manufacturing, business, sales & marketing, investment, finance, mega-project management, talent development and risk management.

Before joining Ma’aden, Mosaed worked at SABIC for over 30 years, where he most recently served as Senior Executive Advisor to the CEO. During his time at SABIC, he held a range of top-level executive positions including Group Chief Financial Officer; Executive Vice President of the Polymers and Manufacturing business segments; Chief Operating Officer of the SABIC Europe group and Vice President of SABIC Fertilizers.

Engr. Mosaed started his career at the Saudi Petrochemical Company, SADAF as a chemical engineer and ended his journey with SADAF in 2010 as the President of the company. After that, Mosaed led the formation of SABIC Manufacturing organization.

Al Ohali served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for several SABIC and non-SABIC affiliates. He currently serves as a member of certain government committees and nonprofit organizations.

Mosaed holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.

Nabila AlTunisi

Independent

Eng. Nabila AlTunisi is an Independent member on Ma’aden’s Board of Directors. She is also currently the Executive Director of Programs at Saudi Arabia’s Royal Court.

From 2018 to 2019, she was the Managing Director of energy and water sector at NEOM. Nabila joined Saudi Aramco in 2009, where she held various technical and managerial positions. Her last position at Saudi Aramco was Chief Engineer.

Eng. Nabila holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Oregon State University and an Executive MBA from Stanford University.

Manar Almoneef

Non-Executive

Dr. Manar Al-Munif was appointed as an Independent member of Ma'aden's Board of Directors on 25 October 2023.

She is the Chief Investment Officer at NEOM, a role she has held since 2021. Dr. Al-Munif has extensive experience in the energy and healthcare sectors, having held various positions including president and CEO of General Electric Renewable Energy for EMEA between 2017 and 2021. She was also GE's Chief Growth Officer for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (2016 -2017), Chief Marketing Officer at GE Oil & Gas (2013 – 2016), and GE's Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East (2011 - 2013).

She previously served as managing director for GE healthcare (2010 – 2011), managing director of knowledge based industries at SAGIA (2006 – 2010), and as a clinical pathologist at National Guard Health Affairs.

Dr. Al-Munif holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a PhD in Molecular Oncology and Genetics from the University of Leicester.

Saud AI-Utaibi

Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Safety & Innovation

Eng. Saud Ayedh AI-Utaibi has been appointed as the Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Safety & Innovation in December 2023.

Eng. AI-Utaibi brings more than 22 years of experience across engineering, logistics and operations, in several sectors such as Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Polymers, Phosphate, Aluminum Mine & refinery operations.

During his career, he has served in vital and leading companies across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including SABIC, Saudi Chevron Philips, Sahara Petrochemical, as well as in different business units in the Saudi Arabian Mining Company “MA’ADEN”.

Eng. Saud joined MA’ADEN in 2012 as operations manager before being promoted to a number of senior roles including VP for Mine and Refinery and, most recently SVP, Ras Al-Khair Production.

He holds an Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) followed by a master's degree from the United Kingdom. He has been also involved actively in the international "GPCA” and “IFA" associations.

Abdullah Al Osaimi

Senior Vice President, Procurement & Business Support

Abdullah Al Osaimi was appointed as the Senior Vice President, Procurement & Business Support in Sep 2022.

Al Osaimi joined MA’ADEN in June 2021 as the Vice President of Shared Services. He has experience in corporate-wide organizational transformation programs. Prior to joining MA’ADEN, Al Osaimi spent over 23 years at SABIC and Aramco, in global leadership positions overseeing shared services development and operations, corporate strategies and performance management, joint venture development and governance, M&As, global procurement services and project management.

Al Osaimi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Construction and Engineering Management, in addition to a Master’s in Business Administration, all from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. Al Osaimi holds multiple additional qualifications, including a fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain (CIPS), a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, and a Supply Management Professional certification (CPSM) from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).

Ganesh Kishore

Non-Executive

Dr. Ganesh Kishore is a Non-Executive member on Ma’aden’s Board of Directors. He is the Co-Founder and current Managing Partner at Spruce Capital Partners.

Dr. Kishore has more than 30 years of experience in the agriculture and nutrition biotechnology industries. He worked at Monsanto from 1980 until 2000 where he eventually served as the company’s President of Nutrition & Consumer Sector. He was named as a Distinguished Science Fellow during his tenure. He later joined DuPont as the Chief Technology Officer of Agriculture & Nutrition before becoming its Chief Biotechnology Officer.

He serves on the Board of several academic institutions and companies. He received a PhD in Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science and postdoctoral training in chemistry and biology at the University of Texas at Austin.

Bob Wilt

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Bob Wilt was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ma’aden on 1st February 2022. He brings 30+ years of experience in various leadership positions, delivering exceptional strategic and operational results in a range of challenging global environments.

Abdulaziz Asker Al-Harbi

Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Engr. Abdulaziz Al Harbi appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ma’aden on Feb 2022, he was Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since 25th April 2021, His experience spans more than 30 years in project management, planning and operations.

Prior to his current role, he was the Executive Vice President for Shared Services, Security and Safety. and before that he was the President for Ma’aden Gold and Base Metals (MGBM), Ma’aden Aluminum Company and Ma’aden Phosphate, which he led from project phase until they became operational.

Al Harbi joined Ma’aden on 16 January,2007 as President of Ma’aden Phosphate Company (MPC). Before joining Ma’aden, Engr. Abdulaziz worked for Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO) as Director General, Operations, Technical and Expansion from 2002-2007.

From 1998-2002 he held the position of General Manager, Planning and Operations in Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).

Al Harbi served as the Chairman of ERADH Association, he is also member of Jubail City Council, US-Saudi Arabian Business Council and Rajhi Steel.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University, and a certificate in Advanced Management and leadership program from Oxford.

Louis Irvine

Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Louis Irvine was appointed as the Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Sep 2022.

Louis Irvine joined MA’ADEN in May 2022 as Chief Financial Officer. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in finance, strategy and business development in various executive leadership positions.

Previously, Louis held the position of Group Chief Financial Officer of TSX-listed and FTSE-listed Endeavour Mining. Prior to his role at Endeavour Mining, he was the Executive Head of Strategy and Business Development at Anglo American, overseeing portfolio optimization and other strategic initiatives.

Louis has strong financial credentials having qualified as a chartered accountants with Deloitte & Touche in South Africa. He subsequently spent his career at a number of blue-chip mining organizations including BHP and Glencore (Xstrata), where he gained valuable corporate finance, marketing, Mergers and acquisitions and strategy development experience.

Louis holds a post-graduate honours degree in Commerce from the University of Johannesburg and is a registered member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Khaled Bin Sulaiman Alohali

Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategic Affairs and Communication

Khaled Alohali joined Ma’aden in 2014 as a Vice President of Strategy, Planning and Development. He also led the Ma’aden Aluminum’s strategy until he was appointed into his current role. He is an alternate member of the MBAC and MAC Board of Directors, and a member of MRC Board of Directors.

In the 20 years prior to joining Ma’aden, Khaled held leadership positions in the public and private sectors. He worked at the Project Management Office of Saudi Arabian Economic Offset Program, was a consultant for the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and was the Vice President of the National Industrial Clusters Development Program. He led the Saudi side of the Saudi-Japan Industrial Cooperation Taskforce and also had a stint as the Vice President of Charles River Associates International (CRA International) and was the Managing Director in Saudi Arabia.

Alohali holds a BSc in mechanical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.

Assaf AlQuraishi

Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Assaf was appointed as CHRO of Maaden in May 2024.

Assaf AlQuraishi brings over 25 years of human capital and business experience to Ma’aden, with nearly twelve years in executive C-Suite roles. He joined Maaden from The Twenty Percent, an executive coaching and leadership development start-up, where he acted in the capacity of Co-Founder and Managing Director.

Previously, he held several key positions at Unilever, including Vice President of Human Resources for North Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, as well as various global and regional HR roles based in Dubai, Jeddah, London, and the Netherlands.

Assaf has a robust background in delivering business results through talent, organization and culture practices. He has led significant transformation projects in the geographies that he has operated in and has been a vocal champion of Diversity & Inclusion. He is also an NCC certified coach and has a passion for unlocking leadership potential.

Assaf holds a double major in Finance and International Business from McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, and has several certifications from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

René Thumbran

Chief Human Resources Officer (Acting)

René Thumbran appointed as acting Chief Human Resources Officer in September 2022.

René Thumbran is the Senior Director of HR Centre of Excellence at MA’ADEN and has held the position since July 2021. He is also the Chairman of the Senior Remuneration and Remuneration Committees at Meridian, a MA’ADEN subsidiary.

René has over 25 years of experience in human resource management, transformation, and organizational development for global companies. He has a proven track record in delivering strategic HR and organizational change initiatives that build high-performance teams for business sustainability and growth.

Prior to MA’ADEN, René held positions in Saudi Basic Industries Corporation, Barloworld Logistics SA, Telkom SA, and Telkom Media SA.

René holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Johannesburg and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Gordon Institute of Business.

Ali Al-Qahtani

Executive Vice President, Aluminium Business Unit

Ali Al-Qahtani was appointed as the Executive Vice President, Aluminium business unit in September 2022.

Al-Qahtani was the President of MA’ADEN Aluminum Company and MA’ADEN Bauxite and Alumina Company. He first joined MA’ADEN in February of 2008 as part of MA’ADEN’s aluminum project in Ras Al-Khair, where he became a Deputy Project Director in 2009.

In November 2015, he was appointed Senior Refinery Operations Director, responsible for the Alumina Refinery operations in Ras Al-Khair. In the same year he was promoted to Vice President of MA’AEDN aluminum company.

Eng. Al-Qahtani is also the Chairman of the Board for MA’ADEN Wa’ad Al Shamal Phosphate Company and a member of the Board of Directors of Saudi Mining Polytechnic.

Before joining MA’ADEN, Eng. Al-Qahtani worked for over 10 years as a Hydrogen and Caustic Plant Manager and Ethylene Plant Manager at SABIC.

Eng. Al-Qahtani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

Duncan Bradford

Executive Vice President, Base Metals & New Minerals Business Unit

Duncan Bradford was appointed as the Executive Vice President, Base Metals & New Minerals Business Unit in Sep 2022.

Duncan joined MA’ADEN in 2022 as Senior Vice President, Gold, and Base Metals.

Prior to joining MA’ADEN, Duncan worked with Nevada Gold Mines as a General Manager across the Cortez and Carlin mining districts. He has previously worked in Saudi Arabia at the Jabal Sayid Copper Mine for MA’ADEN Barrick Copper Company. Duncan was also the Managing Director for Byrnecut Offshore Underground Mining Contractors.

Duncan has more than 30 years of operational mining experience, with experience leading large-scale mining operations in both underground and open-pit mining around the world, having worked in Africa, Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and North America.

Duncan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Queensland and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Melbourne.

Ciaran Halpin

Executive Vice President, Exploration & Resource Development (Acting)

Ciaran Halpin was appointed as acting Executive Vice President, Exploration & Resource Development in April 2023.

Ciaran has extensive expertise with over 40 years’ exploration experience across multiple commodities in Europe, Africa, North America, India and most recently Saudi Arabia.

Since joining Ma’aden in 2013 as Director, Industrial Minerals Exploration, Ciaran has worked in various roles across the organization. He worked in exploration with the Phosphate and Industrial Minerals business units and then went on to work in operations at MWSPC. He rejoined the exploration team 2017 where he worked primarily on copper exploration before moving to strategy and business development.

Prior to joining Ma’aden Ciaran held various exploration and operations roles with BHP, principally in Africa. He led the regional exploration team in in their iron ore, bauxite, base metals and diamonds search across West Africa. More recently with BHP he held the position of Operations Manager at the BHP-Newmont’s iron Ore JV project in Nimba, Guinea.

Ciaran holds a Master’s degree in Exploration Geology from Rhodes University and a Graduate Diploma in Engineering from University of the Witwatersrand South Africa.

Dr. Darryl Clark

Senior Vice President, Exploration & Resource Development

Dr. Darryl Clark has more than 30 years of international expertise in exploration and geology, in diverse geographies including North America, Australia, South East Asia, and throughout Central Asia. His experience includes periods working in uranium, coal, copper, gold and oil sands.

Prior to joining Ma’aden, Darryl was Executive Vice President for Exploration and Development at IsoEnergy Ltd, a group that is exploring and developing uranium projects in North America and Australia.

He has held C-suite, executive, and non-executive director roles for some of the industry's most significant players, including CEO of RG Gold in Kazakhstan; CEO of uranium mining enterprise JV Inkai; and General Manager Exploration for Vale throughout Central Asia and Australasia.

During previous corporate roles, he was responsible for business development strategies, designing multi-commodity exploration programs and ensuring resource expansion for industry leaders Vale and BHP Billiton.

Darryl holds a PhD in Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania.

Ahmed Al-Alshaikh

Chief Transformation Officer

Ahmad Al -AlShaikh was appointed as the Chief of Staff and head of Decision Support Unit in August 2021.

Ahmad Al -AlShaikh joined MA’ADEN in 2011 as part of the Phosphate and Industrial Minerals team. Over the last 11 years Al-AlShaikh has supported marketing operations and business development across MA’ADEN’s phosphate business, he also led the integration post Meridian group acquisition (MA’ADEN’s subsidiary),

Early 2022 Al-AlShaikh was appointed to Lead Ma’aden Transformation Project (NUMU). Alongside these roles, he is also a board member in MA’ADEN marketing Services Africa (MMSA), MC member in Meridian (MA’ADEN’s subsidiary), and member of the International Fertilizer Strategic Advisory Team. Prior to joining MA’ADEN, Al-AlShaikh was working at SABIC for over two years.

Al-AlShaikh has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from King AbdulAziz University and a Master’s in Business Administration from South Hampton University. Al-AlShaikh has also completed additional training from Harvard Business School and INSEAD.

Abdulrahaman As-Sadlan

Senior Vice President, Project Development & Engineering

Abdulrahman As-Sadlan was appointed as the Senior Vice President, Project Development & Engineering in Sep 2022.

As-Sadlan joined MA’ADEN in 2009 as part of the New Business Development function, moving on to become the VP of Phosphate Strategy, Planning & Industrial Development in February of 2020 and progressing to lead MA’ADEN’s Projects Development & Engineering function in September 2022.

As-Sadlan has over 20 years of experience in strategy development & delivery, M&A, business planning, R&D, project development and stakeholder management. Prior to joining MA’ADEN, As-Sadlan began his career in SABIC, where he was involved in plant operations, business planning financial analysis and more.

As-Sadlan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and an Executive Master’s of Business Administration from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he has participated in leadership programs at INSEAD and Cambridge Business School. Currently, he also serves as a board member of the MA’ADEN Rolling Company.

Hamad Al-Rashidi

Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Safety & Innovation

Hamad Al-Rashidi was appointed as the Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Safety & Innovation in September 2022.

Al-Rashidi joined MA’ADEN in 2007 and has held multiple positions, recently was the Vice President of Corporate Industrial Safety, EHSS & Sustainability at MA’ADEN. He has more than 27 years of experience in the petrochemicals and minerals processing industry.

Also was the President of MA’ADEN Wa’ad Al-Shamal Phosphate Company (MWSPC), where he led the company’s formation. Prior to this, he was Project Director in the King Abdullah Project for the development of the Wa’ad Al-Shamal Industrial City, and Director for Engineering and Project Expansions at MA’ADEN Phosphate Company (MPC).

In addition to his current role, Al-Rashidi is also Chairman of Meridian Consolidated investment Limited (MCIL), Board Member of the MA’ADEN Aluminum Company (MAC); Board Member of the MA’ADEN Wa’ad Al-Shamal Phosphate Company (MWSPC); a member of Saudi Mining Polytechnic (SMP) Board of Trustees, Secretary General of the Traffic Safety Committee at the Northern Border Region; and a Board Member of Sa’ed Charity.

Before joining MA’ADEN, Al-Rashidi held several prominent leadership roles at SAFCO, leading a spectrum of operations and project management functions.

Al-Rashidi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, and has completed several professional courses from institutions such as the London Business School.

Frederick J. Reeder

Chief Audit Executive

Frederick Reeder was appointed as Chief Audit Executive in August 2019.

Frederick Reeder is the Audit Committee secretary in MA’ADEN and member of the Meridian Audit Committee (MA’ADEN subsidiary).

Frederick has over 25 years of experience in audit, risk management, finance, accounting, and business for global companies. He has a proven track record in delivering strategic internal audit initiatives that build high-performance audit teams.

Prior to MA’ADEN, Frederick held senior executive positions in Nama Holding Company, Elders Limited, Sun International.

Frederick holds an Honours degree in Accounting Science and is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Mashael Alshebaiky

Chief Legal Officer

Mashael Alshebaiky was appointed Chief Legal Officer at Ma’aden in May 2024.

She brings senior legal, governance and compliance experience in Saudi Arabia, having served as the Chief Legal Officer at Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB) and prior to that, holding senior roles in top tier law firms including AS&H-Clifford Chance LLP and K&A, Allen & Overy LLP.

Mashael also has extensive experience in corporate and finance legal advisory across various sectors, mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity and debt capital markets, and has advised on numerous landmark transactions in Saudi Arabia across the said fields.

Mashael holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Prince Sultan University in and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Duke University. She is also qualified to practice law in both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of New York.

Eng. Hassan Madani M. AlAli

Executive Vice President, Phosphate Business Unit

Hassan AlAli was appointed as the Executive Vice President, Phosphate Business Unit in Sep 2022.

AlAli was the Senior Vice President of Phosphate and Industrial Minerals at MA’ADEN.

He joined MA’ADEN in 2010 as Senior Manager for Strategy Planning and Business Development and has held other senior roles within MA’ADEN, including Director for Strategy Planning and Business Development, General Manager of MA’ADEN Industrial Minerals Company (MIMC), VP of Operations at MA’ADEN Phosphate Company (MPC), then the President of the company.

AlAli has more than 25 years of experience in the petrochemicals industry, with a focus on project management, plant operation management, business planning and development. He began his career at Tabuk Cement Company as a project engineer in 1993 before moving to the Arabian Industrial Fibers Company in 1994, where he held various roles in commissioning, production, and business planning. AlAli later joined SABIC in 2007 as Business Manager of the Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Polymer SBU.

AlAli holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Production) from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

David Schummer

Senior Vice President, Gold and Base Metals

David has almost 30 years of experience in the mining industry including 22 years at Newmont Mining Corporation, the world’s second largest Gold Company, and a number of years at New Gold.

David has worked in both North America and Africa and has led the development of major mining projects as well as successfully implementing organizational change to achieve sustainable improvements in health and safety, and operational efficiency.

Ayed Hamoud Al-Mutairi

Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Corporate Affairs

Ayed Al-Mutairi was appointed as the Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Corporate Affairs in Sep 2022.

Al-Mutairi joined MA’ADEN in 2010 and served in several leading roles including leading the Industrial Minerals Company before beginning his role as VP of Corporate Strategy and Development in 2018.

Al-Mutairi started his career as a marketing executive in a consumer product Co. After which he spent 15 years at SABIC in multiple roles within the international fertilizer team including an international assignment in Singapore.

During his career, he has served on several boards of Ma’aden affiliates since 2011 and currently chairing Ma’aden Rolling Company board. He served also other roles in regional and international associations as Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Arab Fertilizer Association, regional ambassador of the International Fertilizer Association and member of the GPCA fertilizer committee.

Al-Mutairi holds a bachelor’s degree on marketing science from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals and have completed executive leadership development programs with INSEAD.

Engr. Khalid Bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer

Non-Executive

H.E. Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, the Deputy Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (MEIM) was President and CEO of Ma’aden from 2011 to 2018. He led the company as it grew into a world class integrated national mining champion serving global markets.

Al-Mudaifer has 30 years of industrial experience, including 23 years in the mining sector and 24 years in executive leadership. Khalid joined Ma’aden in 2006 as Vice President for Phosphate and Business Development where he led the development of the Ma’aden Phosphate business and the master planning and development of Ras Al Khair Industrial City.

Prior to joining Ma’aden, Mr. Mudaifer President of the Qassim Cement Company from 1993 to 2006 and was Vice President and Director of Finance at the Eastern Petrochemical Company (Sharq/SABIC JV) from 1986 to 1993.

In the past, Khalid has held a number of board memberships with Qassim Cement and Saudi Arabian Railways, the Gulf International Bank, the International Fertilizer Association (IFA), the US Saudi Arabia Business Council (USSABC) and a number of social and government committees, boards and councils.

He holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

Stephen Bodley

Chief Legal Counsel

Stephen Bodley joined Ma’aden in September 2013. He has over 20 years legal and business leadership experience, much of it in the mining and energy sectors.

Before joining Ma’aden, Bodley was the SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Sherritt International Inc a mining company with significant assets in Canada, Cuba and Madagascar. Previously he worked with the North American subsidiary of Centrica plc a UK-based FTSE 30 energy company, and was a partner in one of Canada’s leading law firms.

Bodley earned his Honors BA in economics from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada and law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto.

Raminder Singh

Chief Legal Officer (CLO)

Raminder Singh was appointed as the Chief Legal Officer (CLO), (Legal, Governance, Risk & Compliance) in September 2022, having previously held the position of Chief Legal Counsel since joining MA’ADEN in February 2020.

Prior to joining MA’ADEN, Raminder served for 5 years as the Chief Legal Counsel to an industrial conglomerate with multi-billion-dollar global investments in energy, metals, mining, steel, processing plants, ports, shipping, and construction. Earlier in his career, Raminder trained and qualified with Baker & McKenzie and later held senior positions at Linklaters, Shearman & Sterling and Vinson & Elkins (equity partner level).

Raminder is a senior international lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in providing legal and C-suite strategic advice on multi-faceted projects. His experience includes advising on multi-billion-dollar greenfield projects in mining, and other projects in various industrial sectors, including processing plants, refineries and petrochemicals facilities, infrastructure, light and heavy rail, ports and receiving terminals.

Raminder graduated from the University of Leicester with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (First Class Honors). He is a member of The Law Society of England & Wales and is qualified to practice in England and Wales (1993) and in Hong Kong SAR (1995).

Sofia Bianchi

Non- Executive

Ms. Sofia Bianchi is a Non-Executive member on Ma’aden’s Board of Directors. She is an international finance professional with 35 years of experience.

Ms. Bianchi is the Founding Partner of Atlante Capital Partners. She has held executive positions at CDC, BlueCrest Capital Management, the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Prudential Bache.

She has held several independent non-executive directorships. Among others, she is currently the Chair of Canagold Resources Ltd and a Non-Executive Director of Yellow Cake plc.

Ms Bianchi holds a BA in Economics from George Washington University and an MBA from the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania).
