May 19, 2013

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 19th May 2013:

Ma’aden has earned international recognition from Forbes Middle East and MEED for being among the top companies in the region, as well as for its outstanding contribution to development of the mining sector in Saudi Arabia.

This year, Forbes’ list of “Top Companies in the Arab World” ranked Ma’aden among the 50 highest performing companies across the Middle East and North Africa. The new ranking reflects Ma’aden’s success in developing the mining and mineral sector in the Kingdom particularly by expanding its focus on gold mining to other business lines including phosphates, aluminium and industrial minerals.

Ma’aden also won the MEED Quality Awards for Projects 2013 Editor’s Award which recognizes the company’s achievements in recent years in developing a world class integrated aluminium industry and launching the multi-billion dollar Wa’ad Al Shammal phosphate project.

“Through this award, MEED seeks to recognize Ma’aden’s vision and success in developing the mining and minerals sector as a major pillar of Saudi industry which is hugely important in the long-term development of the Saudi Arabian economy. Ma’aden’s achievements will provide careers for generations of Saudis and will support the diversification of the Kingdom’s economic base,” said Richard Thompson, MEED Editorial Director.

Ma’aden President and CEO Engr. Khalid Al Mudaifer said: “Delivering world-class projects with best in class capabilities is a standing commitment in every Ma’aden project. These awards indicate that the international community is becoming aware of the quality of the projects Ma’aden develops and executes and we are honored that these projects are being recognized for excellence, social contribution and positive economic impact - not only in Saudi Arabia but also across the region.”
