BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ma'aden’s Board of Directors is responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the Company's business. The Board consists of nine directors appointed by the Ordinary General Assembly for a term of 3 years. The Board includes the President of the Company and four members representing the Saudi Government, so long as the Government holds at least 50 percent of the shares in the Company.

Dr Abdullah Issa Al-Dabbagh, President and CEO |

Engineer Abdullah Busfar is currently responsible for a wide range of projects, including the mine to metal Aluminium Project and its associated power plant..
Prior to his current role, Engr Busfar held the position of Vice President, Industrial Affairs, and subsequently, VP Corporate Projects, for 5 years. He is a member of the management committee and chairman of several other committees.
Engr Busfar graduated with honours from the University of Colorado with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Besides participating in many national and international conferences and delegations, Mr. Busfar has completed Columbia University’s Senior Executive Programme and other leadership programmes in reputed institutions such as Harvard, Stanford and the Creative Leadership Centre, USA.

Dr Hany Al-Dabbagh is responsible for all Ma'aden’s precious and base metals mining operations, including six gold mines and various exploration activities. Over the last 20 years of his career in the mining industry, Dr Hany has been involved with companies engaged in exploitation and sales of approximately 3.5 million ounces of gold generating approximately SR 4.5 Billion. Including resources currently under development by Ma'aden this amounts to approximately 8.5 million gold ounces.
Prior to joining Ma'aden he had an active career in the oil industry and in civil engineering.
Dr Hany holds a PhD Mining Engineering from Leeds University in the United Kingdom and an MSc in Industrial Engineering from King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia as well as a BSc in Civil Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt.

Mr Al-Fallaj joined Ma'aden in September, 2001 as Vice President, Finance. Mr Al-Fallaj began his career in Saudi Arabia as head of the Accounting Department at King Faisal University where he also lectured in Accounting. Subsequently, he moved to the Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ), a SABIC affiliate, where he worked for more than thirteen years in various positions, becoming the Director of the Finance Division.
Mr Al-Fallaj has a BSc (Honours) in Business, with a Major in Accounting, from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, and an MSc in Accountancy from Arkansas State University, USA.

Engr Mudaifer joined Ma'aden in March 2006 as Vice President, Industrial Affairs. Prior to joining Ma'aden, he was the General Manager and Board Secretary of Qassim Cement Company where he oversaw a period of growth and efficiency gains. He spent the early years of his career with Eastern Petrochemical Company (SHARQ a SABIC joint venture) , where he held a number of roles culminating in his appointment as Vice President, Finance. He continues to hold a number of public and board positions, including a position on the board of Qassim Cement Company, Saudi Railway Company and Gulf International Bank (GIB).
Engineer Mudaifer holds a BSc in Civil Engineering (Honours) and an MBA (Honours) from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.

Dr Mansour Nazer is responsible for overseeing the formulation of Ma'aden Corporate strategy and plans, in addition to overseeing the Company Corporate Relations including government affairs, communication, environment and legal affairs.
Dr Mansour joined Ma'aden in 1998 as Director, Corporate Planning and in 2001 became the Vice President for Planning and Business Development and assumed his current responsibilities in 2007.
Prior to joining Ma'aden Dr Mansour had an active 29 years career in both the private sector and academia. He joined Ma'aden from the Saudi Cable Company where he held a number of executive positions including Vice President of the Power Cable Plant and Acting President. Prior to his career in the private sector Dr Mansour held a number of senior positions at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia, his most recent position being Secretary General of the University.
Dr Mansour holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, USA, an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, USA, and a BSc in General Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Yamani joined Ma'aden in July 2009 as Executive Director, Corporate Human Resources and Industrial Security. Before joining Ma’aden Dr Yamani was the Managing Director of Naft Services Company Limited, a Board Member of Corral Petroleum and a member of Jeddah City Council having previously held senior positions at HIDADA Company and Saudi Aramco. Dr Yamani’s extensive voluntary sector experience includes Membership of the National Advisory Committee for Public Schools, four years as Secretary General and Board Member of the Community Centres Organisation and board membership of the AlBir Charity organization.
Dr Yamani holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida, a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and a BSc in Systems Engineering from King Fahad University for Petroleum & Minerals. | |

Abdullah is a graduate of KFUMT with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He has a total of 27 year operational and engineering experience in petrochemical plants. He has held a managerial position within the operational, engineering and project management division of SABIC.
Currently he is an Executive Director of Project Management and Engineering at Ma'aden.

Immediately after graduating from Accounting Department at King Saud University in 1984, Mr. Khaled Al Rowais joined Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) in the Banking Control Department where he spent most of his career in the supervision of the stock market and Islamic banking products.In 1996 Mr. Rowais left SAMA and joined SABIC Head Quarter where he ended up as a Director of Finance. He has undertaken the project Finance of SABIC grass root and expansion projects in addition to the Acquisitions financing.In 2002 Mr. Rowais joined Ma'aden as a Treasurer until he was promoted to Executive Director of Corporate Planning in 2008.Mr. Rowais is a registered CPA in the USA and a member of the AICPA.
