"ARABAL" looks at the Integration of the Gulf aluminium industry and discusses the key ways to access to new markets

The Arab International Aluminium Conference "ARABAL" organized by the Saudi Arabian Mining Company from 15 - 17 November in Dhahran International Exhibitions Center, Eastern Province, will discuss the integration of the aluminium upstream and downstream sectors throughout the GCC.

On the first day of the conference the CEOs of the Gulf companies will examine the current situation of aluminium markets and investment opportunities in the Gulf region as well as market analysis, research the sustainability of the industry and discuss the challenges facing investors.

The second day of the conference will focus on the aluminium industry’s best practices in environment, health and safety, as well as operational excellence, productivity, innovation and technology.

Day three will provide a Technology Workshop and the opportunity to go to Ma’aden Aluminium’s Ras Al Khair plant. Ma’aden Aluminium (MA) is a joint venture between the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) and Alcoa. The US$10.8b project is designed to be the largest and most efficient integrated aluminium complex in the world.

Ghannam Al-Ghannam, Aluminium Sales Director at Ma’aden and member of the Conference Executive Committee quoted that "ARABAL is a renewable conference that will witness the participation of all the region's leading aluminium companies alongside reputable global companies and will address topics of interest to investors in the industry, especially in the Gulf region by focusing on the industrial integration within.” Ghannam also stated that “the conference will witness the introduction of new studies, workshops and rich debate sessions”.

The ARABAL Conference is regarded as one of the most important events in the aluminium industry, and through it ‘MA’ADEN’ is seeking to review the opportunities available within the company and present the Kingdom as an investment destination to the aluminium companies, which would contribute in attracting foreign capital and localization of the global technology.
