Principal Activity
The principal activity of Ma'aden and its subsidiaries is to participate in mining activities at all stages and related downstream industries. Currently, Ma'aden's principal activities focus on:
| Gold, base and precious metals | Operational and commercial production. |
| Kaolin and low-grade bauxite. | Operational and commercial production. |
| Magnesite | Magnesite processing plant which began operation in 2011 |
| Phosphate | Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) which began operation in 2011 |
| Aluminium | In construction will commence start-up production in a two phased approach, with phase 1 (smelter and rolling mill) in 2013 and phase 2 (mine and refinery) in 2014. |
| Infrastructure | Under construction and meeting the time lines set for the phosphate and aluminium projects. |
| Caustic Soda and ethylene dichloride. | The mechanical completion of the project is expected to be done in Q3/2012. This facility is a 50/50 joint venture with Sahara and will supply coustic soda to the aluminium refinery. |
